Sandhya Gurung trained Lovlina Borgohain is grabbing headlines across the country after having punched her way to a definite bronze at the Tokyo Olympics 2020

 SANDHYA GURUNG is beaming with pride as she watches a boxer she has trained for the past nine years comes good on her potential and booked India’s second medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in Japan. 23 years old Lovlina Borgohain is grabbing headlines across the country after having punched her way to a definite bronze at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and is now eyeing the Gold. Lovilina had come under Sandhya’s wings as an impressionable 15-year-old when she was selected for a sub-junior boxing camp which had Sandhya as her coach. Sandhya has coached Lovlina ever since and also prepared her for the Tokyo Olympics. It is another matter that Sandhya, Lovlina’s national coach, could not accompany her to Tokyo, but that distance pales in light of the  years that she has  groomed her and polished her boxing skills.
